Georgian
(1714 – 1830) The Georgian period is admired for its architectural symmetry, taking inspiration from the classical designs of the Romans and Greeks. Many modern homes are built in a Georgian style to emulate the simplicity and order of the period. Our Georgian interior decor mouldings are unfussy and bulkier than the Victorian and Edwardian mouldings that followed. In the Georgian period, it was fashionable to leave the dining room chairs against the walls, away from the table, so dado rails came into fashion to protect the walls from knocks.
