(1908 – 1935) This period is admired for its forward thinking and modernist style featuring sleek, geometric lines. Influenced by the ambitious architecture of the time, including the ground breaking Empire State Building and its reflective chrome geometry. Moving away from the naturalistic Art Nouveau, Art Deco interior design was glamorous with striking use of curves, sleek stylised forms, gold and black.
