A Step-by-Step Guide to Measuring Panelling for Stairs

Adding panelling to your staircase wall can bring elegance and style to your home. However, achieving a flawless installation requires accurate measurements. Step 1: Determine the placement of the dado rail
Start by measuring where you want the dado rail to be positioned, ideally in line with your bannister or approximately 1 metre from the ground. To ensure consistency, use a wood off cut or a long ruler as a guide along the staircase while drawing a reference line on the wall.
    
Step 2: Attach the dado rail
Using DecoFix, securely attach the dado rail to the wall. If the walls are not straight, consider using flexible dado rails that can adapt to uneven surfaces. It's recommended to have an extra pair of hands to ensure a straight and accurate fit.
   
   
 
Step 3: Plan the panel layout
Determine the number of panel boxes you want to incorporate in your design, ensuring they can be evenly distributed along the staircase. Decide on the desired spacing between each box to achieve a balanced and visually appealing look.
    
Step 4: Confirm angles and measurements
Using a site protractor, measure and confirm the correct angles for placing the panels on the wall. Double-check that the distances between the panels are consistent. Accuracy is crucial to ensure a seamless and professional appearance.
  
   
    
Step 5: Cut the mouldings to size

Step 6: Install the wall mouldings

Step 7: Optional - Adding colour and finishing touches
