What is a door architrave?
A door architrave is a decorative molding or trim that surrounds the perimeter of a door frame, typically on the interior side of the door. It is usually made of wood or other materials such as plastic, metal, or plaster, and it can be plain or ornamented with intricate designs or carvings.
The architrave can serve both functional and aesthetic purposes. Functionally, it helps to cover the gap between the door frame and the wall, and it can also provide a surface for attaching door hardware such as hinges, locks, and doorknobs. Aesthetically, it can enhance the visual appeal of the door and the surrounding space, creating a finished and cohesive look.
