How to create a feature wall
A feature wall is a great way to add some personality and visual interest to a room. Here are some steps to help you create a feature wall:
-
Choose a wall: Select a wall that you want to feature in the room. Typically, this will be the largest wall or the one that draws the most attention.
-
Choose a color or pattern: Decide on a color or pattern that you want to use on the feature wall. You can choose a bold color or pattern to create a dramatic effect or a subtle one that complements the other colors in the room.
-
Paint or wallpaper the wall: If you choose to paint the wall, make sure to use painter's tape to protect any trim or other areas that you don't want to paint. If you choose wallpaper, be sure to measure the wall carefully and follow the manufacturer's instructions.
-
Add texture: You can add texture to the feature wall by using textured wallpaper or wall paneling.
-
Create a gallery wall: If you prefer a more eclectic look, you can create a gallery wall by hanging a collection of artwork, photos, or other decorative items.
-
Add shelving: Another way to create a feature wall is to add shelving. You can use floating shelves or built-in shelving to display books, photos, or other decorative items.
-
Accent lighting: To highlight your feature wall, add accent lighting such as wall sconces or indirect led lighting hidden in coving.
Remember to keep the rest of the room's decor simple so that the feature wall stands out.
