Installation Information
Preparation
When your order arrives, unpack everything and lay the items flat so you can confirm you have the correct quantity for your project. Store both the panels and adhesive at room temperature for 24 hours before installation. Check your wall surface, lightly sand away any noticeable bumps, and wipe down to ensure it’s clean and dust-free. Walls should always be dry and free from grease before you begin.
Marking Out
Decide where the panelling or mouldings will be placed and mark the wall using a pencil and spirit level. If you’re installing skirting board, this should be fitted first. Always work from the bottom upwards to ensure an even finish.
Cutting
Cut each panel or moulding with a sharp, fine-toothed saw for the best results.
Applying Adhesive
Spread adhesive along the back of the product. For slimmer mouldings, a single bead of adhesive is sufficient, while for larger panels it’s best to apply a line around the edges with an extra bead down the centre for secure bonding.
Fixing in Place
Position the moulding or panel carefully against the wall and press firmly. Wipe away any excess adhesive with a cloth or damp sponge before it sets.
Finishing Touches
Fill any small gaps or joins with decorator’s caulk, applying it neatly with a caulking gun. Smooth with a finger or lightly damp sponge for a seamless look. After 10–15 minutes, lightly sand any areas that need refining.
Painting
Once the panels or mouldings are fixed, they can be painted with your chosen finish, either by hand or spray application. For a long-lasting result, we recommend Mylands Wood & Metal Paint.
Painting & Finishing
After installation, your mouldings or panels are ready to be painted, whether you prefer applying by brush, roller, or spray.
F.A.Q
Can I cut the products to size?
Yes. Each piece can be trimmed using standard woodworking tools, making them easy to fit to any wall length, height, or around features like doors and windows.
Are the products supplied painted?
No. Every item is factory primed and ready to paint, so you can choose any colour to suit your interior style.
Are these products suitable for kitchens and bathrooms?
Yes. Being made from moisture-resistant MDF, they are more stable than standard MDF in humid environments. Once painted with a quality finish, they’re ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, and other high-traffic areas.
How do I install them?
Installation is simple. Most items can be fixed directly to the wall using a strong grab adhesive, with caulk recommended for a neat finish at the joins.
