In conclusion, Duropolymer is an excellent choice for interior designers and architects looking for a versatile, durable, and eco-friendly material for creating decorative elements in homes and other indoor spaces.

In 2020 the manufacturer spent 800,000 Euros adding to their solar power energy production by filling the acres around the factory with solar panels, which work alongside the solar panels on the factory roof.

Ongoing Commitments

The products are lightweight and installed using adhesive making installation easy, simple and quick.

Easy to cut

The material cuts just like wood which means you can cut all the products to the exact sizes that you need onsite.

Ready to paint

The products arrives pre-primed in white, ready for you to paint. Once installed you can either paint the mouldings by hand or with a spray gun.

Water Resistant

The material is water resistant, which means the products can be used in areas with high moisture such as bathrooms or damp areas.

Installation Information

Preperation

When your products arrive, unpack them and lay them out on the floor so you can check you have enough for your project. Store the products and adhesives at room temperature and wait 24 hours before installing

Sand down any obvious imperfections on your wall/surface and wipe down the surface after making sure it is free from dust.

Before you start fitting ensure that the walls are dry and grease free.

Mark Up

Plan out and mark up the location of where you want to fit the moulding/panelling onto the wall using a spirit level.

If you are installing a skirting board, always start with this. Always start your project from the bottom of the wall upwards.

Cutting

The material cuts just like wood, so once you have measured up, simply cut your moulding/panelling with a fresh bladed saw.

Glueing Up

Apply the DecoFix Power adhesive to the rear face of your moulding/panelling making sure to run a bead of adhesive along the length if you are using a moulding or for larger mouldings/panels all around the perimetre and a bead down the center aswell.

Fitting

Line up the moulding/panel against the wall, press firmly and remove any excess glue with a cloth or sponge.

If you are fitting items side by side make sure you are using the correct adhesive - see all adhesive products

*Make sure you leave a 1mm expansion gap around panels.

Finishing

Use the DecoFix Filler to smooth out any joints using a application gun along the joins. Use your finger or a lightly damp sponge to smooth out the filler along the join or seam. If you are using vertical wall panels run the filler along all the vertical seams and use a damp sponge to smooth the filler in an upward direction.

Wait 15 minutes and then gently sand any areas that you think need sanding a little.

Painting

Now your mouldings or panels have been installed you can paint them, either by hand or with a spray gun. We recommend using Myland Wood & Metal paint for the most durable finish.

Painting & Finishing

Once your mouldings or panels have been installed you can paint them, either by hand or with a spray gun.

F.A.Q | Interior Decor Range

How much do I need to order?

How much product you need will depend on your project, your walls and which products you are purchasing.

How to measure for Coving or Skirting:

Measure and note down the overall lengths of each of your walls. (Removing gaps from the measurements such as doors if you are ordering skirting) The coving profiles are sold in 2metre lengths. You can either add up all the wall lengths into one total, then divide by 2 to figure out the total number of profiles you need to order. Alternatively and if you want fewer joints in your coving/skirting, you can look at each length of wall and work out how many 2metre lengths will fit in the space. If you do it this way you may end up with more wastage.

Tip - Make sure to add a little bit extra to your order incase you make any mistakes with cutting!

How to measure for Contemporary Wall Panels

These panels come in standard 200cm x 25cm sizes. Generally these will be fitted side by side to fill a wall or area. Measure the overall width you want to cover (in cm) and divde by 25cm (which is the panel width) This will tell you how many panels you require.

Alternatively, you can work out how many panels you need by measuring your overall square meterage required. x2 panels = 1msq. Therefore if you have a wall of 12msq that you want to cover, times that figure by x2 and that will give you the total number of panels.

Tip - Always add a little bit extra to your order incase you make any mistakes with cutting!

If you need any help with your order please get in touch and we would be delighted to help.

How do I prepare my surfaces?

Sand down any obvious imperfections on your wall/surface and wipe down the surface after making sure it is free from dust.

Before you start fitting ensure that the walls are dry and grease free.

Installing over a painted surface

*If your existing surface is painted, it is very important that the paint has a clean, dry and non-greasy surface. It goes without saying that the paint adhesion must be good. It is important to always sand off any remaining dirt and loose paint.

Installing over wallpaper

It is best to remove the wallpaper before you install the products. If necessary, you can cut and remove the relevant sections. If this is not possible, use DecoFix Power as the glue to affix the products.

How do I cut the product?

The Purotouch material of the mouldings and panels cuts just like wood. For best results it is recommended to use a fresh-bladed saw or similar cutting tool when cutting the product.

How do I install the product?

All of the products are to be fitted to your surface using adhesive glue.

There are three adhesives that are recommended which have different uses. Please see the below question about adhesives for details about which ones you should choose for your application.

Please see the recommended adhesives here.

What adhesive do I need?

We recommend purchsing the correct adhesives for your project from our website. The adhesives have been designed to work specifically with the moulding and panelling products.

DecoFix Power

This very strong adhesive is used to fit the moulding or panelling back to the wall surface. This adhesive is suitable for non purous and humid areas and it is only for interior use.

DecoFix Extra

This adhesive is designed to be used in between panels (short side) and on mitred joints. Making strong connections.

Deco Filler

This lightweight acrylic filler is perfect for finishing seams, for example, along the long edge between panels. Note that long edges of panels do not need to be glued.

If you want a full gurantee from the manufacture then you will need to use the branded adhesives to fit the panelling.

Can you use the panels/moulding in the bathroom?

The panels and mouldings are made from polyurethane which means they are water-proof by nature.

Please note that although the product itself is water-proof, you will need to consider how you are going to finish/paint the panels or mouldings, especially if you intend on using them as shower panels or in very wet areas.

We also highly advise that you request a sample from us so you can test the material with your chosen finishing technique. To request a sample please Contact us.

Do the panels come in different colours?

The panels and moulding all come in a white primed finish. This allows you to install your products and then paint them your desired colour once fitted.

What does Flexible mean?

Walls and homes are not always perfectly square or straight, especially period properties and that is why flex was created.

Some of the products are available in this flexible version which means that the product is bendable around a curve, or you can bend the linear products into interesting shapes.

See the full flex range here.

The flex collection includes coving, cornice, wall panelling, wall mouldings and skirting boards which are all available in a flexible versions.

Are the products suitable for commercial use?

All of the wall panel products are used throughout Europe in commercial projects such as hotels, bars and restaurants so they are perfectly suitable for commercial use.

It is important to note that the interior moulding products are not fire retardant.

Please see the question below regarding the products and fire ratings.

Are the moulding products fire rated? Is there a fire rating?

The interior mouldings and panels do not have a fire rating but can withstand heat up to 70°C (158°F). If you wanted the panels to achieve the UK equivalent to Class 1 fire rating you would need to paint/coat the panels with intumescent paint on all the surfaces.

All of the interior decor moulding are Fire standard E. This means the product can burn, will continue burning and will not automatically stop burning.

If you are ordering a very large quantity of product the manufacturer can offer a service to apply a fire retardant coating at the factory. Please note there is a minimum order quantity and the price will be 25% higher and result in a longer lead-time.

Please contact us for more information. Click here to download the fire certificate.
